What is Free Methodist Bible Quizzing?

The purpose of bible quizzing is to encourage teens to study and memorize God’s word through competition with other teens from other Free Methodist churches.

Who is eligible to quiz?

The quiz program is for teens from 6 th through the 12 th grade. The teen must attend either the Sunday morning service at Westland Free Methodist Church or Front Line program on Thursday evenings at least twice a month.

How long is the quizzing season?

Quiz season starts in September and runs through April. There are also two additional tournaments that quizzers may attend; an overnight regional tournament in Indianapolis, Indiana and a five day
Finals tournament which will be at Spring Arbor, Michigan this year.

What is involved in quizzing?

Mandatory attendance of weekly bible study on Sundays from 9:30AM to 10:30AM.
Mandatory attendance of weekly quiz practice on Mondays from 6:30PM to 8:00PM.
Monthly tournaments usually the second Saturday of each month with starting times varying anywhere between 6:00AM to 7:30AM and ending times varying anywhere between 4:30PM to 7:00PM, depending on driving distance.
Consistent study of quiz material (this year it is Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon (3 chapters a month)
Learning the assigned memory verses

What is the financial obligation of quizzer?

$20 registration fee to help cover cost of materials—due before first tournament in October.
Mandatory participation in fundraisers to help raise cost of registration fees and cost of gas.
Lunch at monthly tournaments ($3.00) and any fast food dinners for any trips longer than an hour and a half
Additional Costs for Optional Regional and Finals Tournaments:
Lodging, food and gas for Regional quiz to Indianapolis, IN (approximately $50)
Room and board, registration fee and gas for Finals quiz (approximately $250)

There are several Little Caesar fundraisers that will be available to teens to earn money for this and other teen trips through the year.
